Nespresso error code 1003 indicates “Heat Not Complete”. That means you now have to make coffee without hot water. Because of thermos-block or, insufficient time, the machine does not get to prepare hot water.
This error code has been seen rather often in Nespresso Coffee Machines.
My friend Michel bought a Nespresso CitiZ Machine last year and he also faced the same problem as well.
I just bought this Citiz espresso machine, and after making a cup of coffee, I tried to follow the routine of making three long coffees and then two hot glasses of water. It worked till the hot water system falls and I received the error number #1003 thermos-block timeout. It can still brew coffee but not hot water.

The Nespresso error code 1003 indicates that the heating process has not been completed. That signifies thermos-block timeout. Without hot water, coffee can still be brewed.
If your system displays the error code 1003, turn it off for a few moments before turning it back on. If the problem code continues to appear, contact Nespresso customer care.
